Exploration Days/Nights

Are you ready to take your school's science day or science night to the next level? Mad Science can help! We will engage your students in a science experience they will never forget. Mad Science will bring interactive science exhibits, hands-on experiments, and fascinating displays right to your multi-purpose room.

These programs get rave reviews from teachers, parents and principals alike for the amount of FUN science we can bring to your kids in such a short period of time.

A Mad Science Exploration Day Evening Program is a perfect way for your entire school to participate in an exciting period of scientific learning. During the days we can get your teachers and students a lot of fast paced science (up to 4 topics an hour) and as an evening program this provides an amazing opportunity to bring parents, students and teachers together for a night filled with education and entertainment.

These programs are designed to involve every student in an interactive science experience.  All science activities are hands-on and inquiry-based.

We have multiple Mad Scientists present, each responsible for a hands-on station.  During each 60-minute session, a set of students will rotate through and explore four different scientific concepts with the help of our Mad Scientists.  The day will be broken out into sessions and each session can accommodate 80-130 students. (1- 2 grades depending upon the size of each grade)

Science Stations include:

Magnetism: Discover the wonders of magnetism, interact with magnets in motion, levitate objects and experiment with magnetic liquid.

Watts” Up:  Investigate electricity, and its properties. Experience indoor lightning and solve the riddle of conductivity  and get introduced to circuits.

Slippery Science:  Explore the amazing world of polymers, through seeing and touching examples and learning how they are used. They will also get to transform two liquids by chemical reaction into an oozing batch of their very own slime.

Where’s The Air:  Learn about power of air pressure experiencing the weight of air, how it moves under pressure (vortexes) and experimenting with Bernoulli’s amazing discoveries concerning air.

Dry Ice Storm – Explore the 3 states of matter, and experience the mystery of “sublimation”. By seeing just how cold “cold” can really be. Experience shivering metals and bubbling potions and taste a big C02 burp.

Sonic Sounds - Children will get to actually “see” sound through creating waves, experience how sound travels in waves and through matter and use our multi-effects processor for cool voice effects.

Optical Illusions: Learn about reflection, lenses and the mystery of optical illusions. Use a camera obscura, uncover the science of holograms and explore 3-D.

Harnessing Heat: Experience how changes matter with temperature including the making of Sugar glass! Everyone will get a cone and will learn the interesting history of spun sugar. This will be some SWEET science!

Light Dynamics: Experiment with various types of light, investigate how light travels and split light into the colors of the rainbow.

Every child will receive a Take home from one of the stations.

Mad Science Exploration Day includes:

  • One or two days of exciting, hands-on activities.
  • Four educational science stations to explore.
  • Age-appropriate one-hour sessions.
  • Pre and post activity guide and event science review sheets for teachers.
  • Science Exploration Day take home sheet for each student.

A Science Exploration Day is designed to be a hassle-free event for your school. We bring all of the equipment and materials, schedules for teachers and handle all of the set-up and clean-up.

Science Evening Program

In our evening program we kick every program with a quick assembly to capture their attention and  introduce how the program works. We then let groups of children in for periods of time (30-60) minutes each depending upon the attendance
