Preschool Workshops

Our preschool workshops offer hands-on learning experiences for students ages 3-4. Each one is an age-appropriate exploration of a single science topic, like air, animals, weather, and worms. Children enjoy engaging demos, perform simple experiments, and discover how science helps us understand our world.

My students enjoyed the Matter Matters in school field trip! They were excited and engaged.

James visited our school today and the children absolutely loved his workshop on forces. He kept them entertained, highly amused and engaged for the whole hour. The workshop sparked lots of interest in my year six class and provoked lots of understanding and thinking. I would highly recommend Mad Science! Thanks very much!

FAQ

Does everyone always take something home from a workshop?

Yes! A take-home activity is part of every workshop program. Most of the time, the item is built during the workshop. In some workshops, the activity requires no assembly and will be given to the children at the end of the workshop.

+

How long in advance do I need to book?

We recommend 4-6 weeks before your event date. If you are going to be using our Teacher Resource Guide to complement the workshop, allow a little extra time to go over the pre-events with your class before the actual workshop.

+

For what ages are Mad Science workshops appropriate?

Our workshops are appropriate for children between ages 3-4 for preschool workshops and ages 5-12 for elementary-level workshops. At a middle school? A few of our programs are suitable for 6th graders, just ask!

+

What is your cancellation policy?

If you would like to reschedule or make changes to your workshop, we ask that you contact us the Friday before your scheduled program. A $30 cancellation fee will be applied if a program is cancelled within 48 hours of its scheduled start time. Any travels fees will also be applied, if applicable.
